The Saint Jude Retreat offers the only program in the United States that has an independent research company verify and measure long term sobriety rates after a guest has returned home. We are also the only facility that publishes and provides access to these studies for public consumption.

Since the beginning, we have maintained independently measured and verified the results from program participants and made those results available to the public. The survey consists of a single inquiry pertaining to the alcohol and drug use of the individual. The answers are gathered by the independent research institute (I.E. Clearwater Research, Inc. and U.S. Field and Research Inc.) from the graduate and a corroborator (usually a family member). The survey is set up to include only two categories; "using" and "not using." Those who may have successfully moderated their use must be included in the "using" category for the research purpose of the study.
